Return To Blogger

Well After a very long period I have starting blogging again, it is almost 4 and a half months has been past during this period A very interesting Test series that Pakistan has played against England in England. They really proved that they are a best test side who is strong in their home series as well as in any other part of the world. They had shown their class in test but slaughtered in ODI's by England, Pakistan allowed England to score the highest total in ODI history of 444. Honestly speaking England batsmen played good but Pakistani bowling attack was the architect of that total.Well it all has been a part of past now, Pakistan after loosing 4 ODI's in a row against England but they recovered well in Last ODI of the series and in the only T20 where they have a new skipper Sarfaraz (dhoka nhn dega). From that last ODI Pakistan has found their way and they had white washed T20's champions not only T20's but in ODI's as well, knowing that Gayle,Sammy and Russel were not the part of the team due to Carribean Cricket Board problems with these stars.West Indies struggling during the ODI's and T20's shown something in 1st test where Pakistan has almost lost the match. West Indies bounced back very beautifully, when Pakistan felt very easy and they take Devendra Bishoo very casual or we can say they were over confident,Pakistan were got all out at 123 in 2nd innings where Bishoo taken 8 out of 10.West Indies were very good at second innings, they recognise that they have a chance to win that test match and Bravo really provide them a chance but he can't take his team over the line but it was a very brilliant knock, he showed his class in both the innings. From Tomorrow 2nd test is going to be started and hopefully I'll properly start blogging from this test.Lots of things are there on which I have to write and Insha'Allah from tomorrow onward I'll be there.......Don't forget to comment and I'll be Waiting for your suggestion.

Mohammad Amir Has Served His Time; Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad has insisted he won't have any issues playing against Muhammad Amir should the convicted spot-fixer make his test return at Lord's next month.
Lord's was the venue six years ago when left arm pacer Amir and two Pakistan team-mates were involved in the deliberate bowling of no-balls as part of a newspaper 'sting' operation to demonstrate the trio's willingness to take part in spot-fixing.
A teenager at the time and one of world cricket's undoubted rising stars, Amir was sent to jail by an English court and banned from all cricket world wide for five years.
He has now served that ban and, unlike 2010 Pakistan Captain Salman Butt and fellow pace-man Mohammad Asif,Amir has now been included in the squad for a four-test series starting at Lord's on July 14.
Broad speaking at an event organised by England sponsor Hardy's wine on Monday, said: "I don't think any feelings will be dragged into this test match from that one. There are only four players in (this) England team from then, and Pakistan had a huge change-over.So, I don't think any ill feeling or negativity will have carried through. For quality of bowler,I don't think there is much doubt that he is up there with anyone.I haven't played him for six years, but in 2010 he was a constant threat and man of the series. It swung around the corners for him."
He further added that,"Spectators at the home of cricket may not welcome  Amir back with open arms."

Azhar Vows Pakistan Will Directly Qualify For World Cup 2019

Pakistan ODI Captain Azhar Ali has said that his side will be committed to qualifying directly for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after 2019 after putting strong performance in the ICC Champions Trophy, which will be played in the summer next year.
"The ICC Champions Trophy 2017 is a crucial event for us,where as possible so that we can improve our team ranking and qualify automatically for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019,"he said in a statement after the ICC announced the Champions Trophy.
The tournament scheduled was announced at The Oval exactly a year before the first ball will be bowled in the tournament,in which a total of 15 matches-including three knockout games will be played over two and half weeks.
"A lot of ODI cricket scheduled in the lead up to the ICC Champions Trophy, and it will be our best chance to learn, improve and win as many matches as possible so that we arrive in England and Wales next year fully prepared and ready for challenge,"the Pakistan ODI Skipper said,"he is hoping that his team would work out its weakness in time to win the trophy."
The ICC Champions Trophy is one trophy which is missing from our cabinet. It has earned the status as one of the most demanding, challenging and intense competitions. So,it will be nice if we can get our hands on this piece of silverware next year.
"In the face of  competition from some outstanding teams and players,it will not be easy,"he said."But success at any "global event comes only after persistent preparations and efforts, which have to be backed up by consistent performances.
"I am hoping that over the next 12 months,we will be able to build on our strengths and achieve our objectives,"he added.

Few Things We Have Learned From IPL 2016

We have learned few things from the ninth edition of IPL 2016,after Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Royal Challengers Banglore in Sunday's final.
1.Warner Showed Maturity:
Australia's David Warner showed a maturity belying his controversy fuelled past to captain Sunrisers Hyderabad to their maiden IPL Title, suggesting he is coming of age as a cricketer.Off-field exploits, including a bar-room punch on England's Joe Root in 2013,have often captured the headlines but Warner took this season's IPL by storm with 848 runs. The 29-years-old opener leadership skills were praised by Virat Kohli, the captain of losing finalists Royal Challengers Banglore, who said Warner,"has come a long way as a leader in this tournamnet."
2.Kohli Is Ready To Step Up:
Indian Test Captain Virat Kohli proved that he is also ready to add the job of  limited-overs skipper to his International responsibilities. He scored 973 runs in 16 matches and put his team to the finals where they lost off just 8 runs.
3.T20 Is Still A Batsman Game:
If more proof  was needed that T20 cricket was a batsman's game then the ninth edition of IPL provided it.Records tumbled and sixes rained. Virat Kohli smashed the record for the most runs in a single season by more than 200,finishing on 973,while David Warner blitzed 848.with four centuries and seven fifties,Kohli also became the all-time leading run scorer in IPL.Kohli also topped the all time sixes chart in a single season with 38 hits over the fence. He and AB de Villiers also recorded the highest ever T20  partnership with 229.

Knee Injury Puts Mohammad Hafeez In Doubt For England Tour

Pakistan batsman Mohammad Hafeez has been ruled out of  the skills camp beginning on May,28  at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, but doctors will continue to monitor his recovery from a knee injury on a weekly basis ahead of  Pakistan's tour of England which starts June,18.
A fresh MRI scan on Hafeez revealed an improvement in his knee, first injured in March, but stress has been diagnosed and he may be rested for sometime as a part of his continuing rehabilitation regimen. He had already missed the opening fitness training camp at the Pakistan Military Academy in Abottabad.
Hafeez last played for Pakistan at the world T20 in March where he sustained the knee injury after a bone contusion in his femur. He has been resting since then and undergoing extensive treatment as a part of his rehabilitation. According to the latest reports, doctors advised Hafeez against any net sessions. Hafeez himself is desperate to restart his cricket but doctors are cautious about his injury which they fear could be aggravated if he tries to push for an early return.
A final call on his participation in the England Test series is expected to be taken in the next three to four days. Pakistan's 22 probables will be cut down to a final 16-man squad at the conclusion of the skills camp. The squad will leave for England to undergo a conditioning camp in Hampshire ahead of two practice matches in Sommerset and Sussex before the first test starts July 14 at Lord's.The selectors had named four options among the probables for the opening slots, with the inclusion of Hafeez cited as subject to fitness.

English Batsmen Will Be Tested By Our Bowlers, says Wahab Riaz

Pakistan's Left arm pacer Wahab Riaz said on friday that Pakistani bowlers can test English batsmen in the upcoming tour if they acclimatise well to host nation's conditions.
In an interview with with Pakpassion.net,the left-armer said that the players need to adjust to conditions and test batsmen through their weakness to perform well in the series.
"We have a good bowling line-up with variety and their is a lot of potential to make the English batsmen work hard, but the most important things for our bowlers is to adjust to bowling in England and to get used to of English conditions as soon as possible," he said.

Would Have Been Worried To Bowl To Kohli, says Swing Master

Pakistan Legendary Fast-bowler Wasim Akram was a sight of Terror for many batsmen in his era, however, the left-armer believes he would have been worried to bowl to Indian batting Star Virat Kohli.
The 49-years-old was a force to be reckoned with during his heydays and bagged 916 wickets in both Tests and ODIs combined with his sheer pace and the ability to swing  the ball both sides.
However, Wasim thinks kohli's self-belief and technique makes him a difficult opponent to deal with.
When asked "What makes Kohli so Special?", Wasim said:"His belief ,his ability and on top of that his technique. We haven't seen him play the reverse shot or the lap shot,he always plays proper cricketing shots with the full face of the bat. That's why he has been very consistent and as a bowler if I had to bowl at him,I will be worried.
Before that Kohli said,Wasim as the bowler he would have feared if he ever played against him." The bowler I most fear,or I would have feared if I had played would be the Legendary Akram;fast and skillful,"Kohli answered a quick-fire question during an interview with CNN.

Wrecked Stokes Has Surgery As Topley Ruled Out For Three Months

England All-Rounder Ben Stokes had knee surgery on Tuesday, while fellow International Reece Topley learnt he will be sidelined  for three months with a partial stress fracture.
Stokes suffered  a cartilage tear in his left knee during England's crushing Test victory against Srilanka last week at Headingley.
The 24-years-old admitted it was a huge  blow to be sidelined while England are in action, although he planned to watch his team-mates in the second test against Srilanka in Durham this week, which he revealed through his twitter account.

Opening Will Be Test For Pakistan

Opening the batting in English conditions is considered by many as one of the toughest challenges in Test Cricket. Many a technical astute batsman has been exposed on the seaming wickets at the home of cricket.

Pakistan's Top order batsmen have historically made heavy weather of some of the flattest track around the world,so it comes as no surprise that in England they have endured a tumultuous time against the moving red ball; especially since the famed  duo of Saeed Anwar and Aamir Sohail exited the scene.
But it was not always like this,In a richly rewarding run from 1987 to 2001, Pakistan won six out of the 13 test played across four tours- with series win in 1987,1992 and 1996,and a draw in 2001. In most of the games won by the visitors, the openers provided a decent launching pad.
Mohammad Hafeez is the only player who had played a note when he scored 95 in the 2006 oval test, the highest score since the turn of the century by a Pakistani opener. Now for upcoming series the opening  for Pakistan rely on Mohammad Hafeez (subject to fitness),Shan Masood, Khuram Manzoor and Sami Aslam. Lets
we hope best for them and for Pakistan that they can rebuild Pakistan's Legacy.

RCB In Finals After De Villiers Act as Rescuer.

Tumbling Wickets,A high but not out-of-reach asking rate. An atypically dry and grippy pitch provided the conditions for a situation, usually more common in 50-overs cricket than in T20- to arise in the first Qualifier of IPL 2016. AB De Villiers was the specialist batsman, and when Iqbal Abdullah joined him in the 10th over of Royal Challengers Banglore's chase of 159,they needed 91 to win off 62 balls with four wickets in hand.
Royal Challenger's lost Virat Kohli for a duck and slipped to 29 for 5. Then, when Ravindra Jadeja had Stuart Binny  lbw sweeping -though replays showed ball hitting pad marginally outside off stumps- they were 68 for 6. From here AB and Abdullah took Royal Challenger's to the win and they qualify for the finals.

Captain Smith Wary Of Pink Ball Test At Gabba Against Pakistan

Australia Captain Steven Smith has no qualms about playing another test at Adelaide Oval but is wary of how the pink ball will perform in the humid conditions expected at Brisbane later this year.
Australia play against Pakistan in the first test under lights  at the Gabba on Dec,15, despite warnings from former players and pundits that muggy conditions could make the ball unplayable for batsmen.
In the inaugural day-night match against New Zealand in drier Adelaide conditions last year, the ball hooped around menacingly during the floodlit late sessions and Australia won in three days.

Zaheer Abbas Given His Two Cents On Pakistan's Cricket Downfall

ICC President  Zaheer Abbas has said a lack of opportunities and exposure has landed Pakistan Cricket in hot waters.
"Our players are not getting the right opportunities and exposure," said Abbas."They are also not in the Indian Premier League.I feel  sorry for the young players who can't play international cricket or against touring sides at home."
The 'Asian Bradman' expresses his concern that Pakistan Cricket has stopped producing legends for the young players to look up to.
"For a country that has a rich cricketing history and Legacy,it saddens me to see the state of affairs today,"he said. It is sad that a country which has produced so many legends now has to even think about playing in qualifying rounds of an ICC event.

Arthur Should tone down statements on Pakistan's Cricket, says Rashid Latif

Former Pakistan Captain Rashid Latif believes newly appointed head coach Mickey Arthur is jumping the gun by giving statements regarding  issues related to Pakistan Cricket Team.
"Too many statements from the new coach and he is speaking on every issue related to Pakistan Cricket,"said Latif. He is an experienced international coach but he should slow down a bit with his statements and first come and see first-hand challenges he faces with the Pakistan Team."

10 Biggest Sixes In Cricket history

10 Biggest Sixes In Cricket History

10. MS Dhoni (112 meters)

India needing 12 runs of last 4 balls against Australia, MS Dhoni produced one of his trademark shots which sailed over not only the long boundry at Adelaide Oval but also quite a few rows back. As far as distance is concerned it was recorded at around 112 meters.

9. Ijaz Ahmad  (110m to 115m)

Former Pakistan batsman Ijaz Ahmad was a batsman who only had two gears in him while batting regardless of the pitch or team he is playing against. He could either just keep the scoreboard ticking with singles or go into beast mode every now and than and in 1999 match against India at Mohali he hit two sixes one of which sailed over the stadium. The distance is not recorded however but looking at the footage it was around 110 to 115 meters atleast.

8. Corey Anderson (122m)

Corey Anderson broke Shahid Afridi’s long standings fastest 100 in ODI record last year and its evident that he can hit the ball long way with rather ease. Playing against India at Napier he hit four sixes in the game and couple of the shots went out of the stadium. Again distance is not recorded but it was huge sixes which could have kept going had it not for the roof tops.

7. Chris Gayle (120m)

Chris Gayle produced a moment of magic when he hit Brett Lee (one of the fastest bowlers in world cricket) for a massive six which went out of the stadium

6. Shahid Afridi (110m to 115m)

You can’t talk about sixes with out mentioning Shahid Afridi name, the guy was in T20 mode even 10-12 years before the actual berth of twenty20 cricket. Afridi has the record of most number of sixes hit in ODI and overall combined in test, odi and t20. He has recorded some of the biggest hits in world cricket and one of them came on tour against Australia.

5. Mark Waugh (distance not recorded)

Many experts believe this six of Vettori’s bowling by Mark Waugh is the longest six ever hit. Well its certainly one of the biggest but only before the T20 era. regardless of the distance it was one clean shot by one of the most elegant batsman of all times.

4. Yuvraj Singh (119 m)

Fresh of hitting 6 sixes in an over against Chris Broad of England in the quarter finals of T20 world cup 2007, Yuvraj produced another starling performance against Australia in the semifinals as he hit 70 of just 30 balls helping India to reach the final. He hit a massive six of Brett Lee bowling with just the flick of the wrist and it sailed over the

3. Brett Lee (143m)

Brett Lee was often at the wrong end of big sixes but he himself could clear the ropes when in form. Brett Lee had a natural swing with the bat and West Indies bowler felt the real meat of Brett Lee bat back in 2005 when he produced this monster shot

2. Shahid Afridi (almost 158m)Pakistan were chasing a lost cause of 350 runs against South Africa in the 3rd match of ODI series. Ryan McLaren had just bowled Afridi but it was called a no-ball meant a free hit for one of the biggest hitters in world cricket. What does Afridi do he connects the next ball so good it went over the roof with ease and here is a video Alex Stewart and paul Collingwood discussing Afridis six and other big hits.

We leave you with what probably is the

2016 can be called The W.Indies Year

Well as we all know WorldT20 reached to its end with an impressive victory endorsed by the Carribeans, first they nailed India in semis and then they post a win against England in finals. T20 cricket is some thing for which we can't predict and W.Indies proved that, what a final it was, Ben stokes's last over will always remain a dark dream for him for rest of his life in which The Giant "Carlos Braithwaite" hit 4 massive sixes on 4 balls and the W.indies registered their win with 2 balls remaining and became the first team to win ICC WorldT20 twice. Some highlights of celebration.
I have titled my post that "2016 can be called The W.Indies Year" not because they win ICC Men's WorldT20 but they have also won ICC Women's WorldT20 against Australia and in the month of Feb they also won the ICC U-19 World Cup where they beat India in finals. We should have to thanks ICC that they haven't any more tournament this year if they have I believe that they will have that one as well.
Distances between Players and Carribean board are huge, that we have seen from their skipper Darren Sammy's Media talk but they don't give up and became the Champions in all three tournaments that ICC have this year. They have three this year and we hope that they will have many more because they have cricket floating in their blood and all we want to see is good cricket as we have watched in WorldT20 2016 final.
